start by:

a) remove forward and reverse clutches

1. Push back the tab on the lock.

2. Remove nut (1) with tools (A), (B), (C) and (D). Remove the lock.

3. Remove hub (2).

4. Do Steps 1 through 3 for the other clutch hub.

Install Clutch Hubs

1. Check all parts for damage. If damaged, use new parts for replacement.

2. Put clutch hub (1) in position.

3. Install lock (2) and nut (3).

4. Do Steps 1 through 3 for the other clutch hub.

5. Tighten the hubs with tools (A), (B), (C) and (D) to a torque of 516 ± 18 lb. ft. (700 ± 24 N·m).

6. Bend the tab on the lockring into one of the grooves (slot) on the nut.
