Oil Filter

Usage:

Remove Oil Filter

1. Remove four bolts (2) and the lockwashers.

2. Remove oil filter (1) and the two O-ring seals.

Install Oil Filter

1. Install the two O-ring seals. Put oil filter (1) in position. Install the four lockwashers and bolts that hold it in position.

Disassemble Oil Filter

start by:

a) remove oil filter

1. Remove two O-ring seals (2).

2. Remove six bolts (3). Remove cover assembly (1).

3. Remove nut (4), retainer (5) and the seal.

4. Remove element assembly (6).

5. Remove seals (8), (9) and (10).

6. Remove stud (7).

7. Remove plug (11) and the O-ring seal.

8. Remove spring (12) and the spool.

Assemble Oil Filter

1. Check parts for damage. If damaged, use new parts for replacement.

2. Make sure all parts are clean and free of dirt and foreign material.

3. Install spool (2) and spring (1) in the housing.

4. Install O-ring seal (4) on plug (3). Install plug (3) in the housing. Tighten the plug to a torque of 35 ± 5 lb.ft. (45 ± 7 N·m).

5. Install stud (5). Install seals (8), (7) and (6) in the cover.

6. Install new element assembly (9).

7. Put O-ring seal (11) and retainer (10) in position. Install the nut that holds the retainer in position. Tighten the nut to a torque of 10 ± 2 lb.ft. (14 ± 3 N·m).

8. Put cover assembly (12) in position in the housing. Install the six bolts that hold it in position.
