(5) Adjust pressure setting with control lever in the NEUTRAL position, oil temperature at 150° F (65° C) and engine at LOW IDLE. Oil pressure should be 35 ± 5 psi (240 ± 35 kPa). With control lever in AHEAD or ASTERN, oil temperature at 150° F (65° C) and engine at LOW IDLE, oil pressure should be 252 ± 8 psi (1734 ± 55 kPa).
Oil pressure at HIGH IDLE and control lever in NEUTRAL position should be 272 ± 8 psi (1870 ± 55 kPa).
One 5M3492 Spacer .010 in. (0.25 mm) thick gives approximately 3.56 psi (24.4 kPa) pressure change.
One 7M1397 Spacer .036 in. (0.91 mm) thick gives approximately 12.82 psi (88.7 kPa) pressure change.
Add a spacer to increase or remove a spacer to decrease the oil pressure from the valve.
NOTE: Tighten five bolts in alphabetic sequence (A, B, C, D, E) to a torque of ... 25 ± 2 lb. ft.(35 ± 3 N·m)
(6) 5M9548 Spring (for poppet in relief valve):
