Description of Change: Improved engine software is now used in the above 3500B Engines.

The new software for the engine Electronic Control Modules (ECM) contains improvements in the start/restart times for the engine. The software also includes the following improvements:

• Improved communication for the fuel rate scaling that is sent over the CAN data link

• An increase in the maximum value for the monitoring system's oil filter differential pressure to 150 kPa (22 psi)

• An increase in the trip point for the monitoring system's shutdown for engine overspeed to 115 percent of the engine's rated speed

• A change to the default setting for the engine coolant level's monitoring that is now "ON"

• Easier clearing of derate events and shutdowns from the EMCP or the reset switch

Note: The use of software version 2006A, or a version that is newer for Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) is required.
