Improved Sealing for Torque Limiter on Hydraulic Pump {5070}
- Backhoe Loader:
- 420E (S/N: HLS1-UP; KMW1-UP)
- 430E (S/N: DDT1-UP; EAT1-UP)
A seal kit has been released for the machines that are listed above. The new kit provides improved sealing capability at the joint between the hydraulic pump and the solenoid on the torque limiter.
- Check the solenoid in order to determine tightness.
- If the solenoid is loose, remove the solenoid. Replace the seals with seals in 251-2429 Seal Kit.
- Ensure that the seal and the spacer are installed correctly. Reference Illustration 1.

- Thread the solenoid and torque to 38 ± 3 N·m (28 ± 2 lb ft).
- Run the machine and check the hydraulic pump for leaks.
Note: This procedure is valid for leaks that resulted from improper torque or from missing machining operation.
