New Routing of Hoses on the Extendable Stick Bucket Improves Service Life {5057, 6533}
- Backhoe Loader:
- 416E (S/N: SHA1-UP)
- 420E (S/N: HLS1-UP; KMW1-UP)
- 430E (S/N: DDT1-UP; EAT1-UP)
Description of Change: The routing of the E-stick bucket hoses has been improved. The new hose routing provides increased clearance for the bucket hoses that are routed from the bucket cylinder ends. This improved routing will prevent these hoses from being pinched or cut during retraction of the E-stick.
Adaptable To: The improved routing of the E-stick bucket hoses is adaptable to the machines that are listed in Table 1. Refer to "Rework Procedure" for additional information.

Retracted E-stick |
- Test the bucket hose movement by slowly extending and retracting the E-stick in the vertical position in order to ensure that the hoses have adequate clearance between the outer E-stick slider and the boom during retraction. Refer to Illustrations 1 and 2 for examples of extension and retraction of the E-stick.
- If interference exists, loosen hose clamps (1) and reposition the hose(s) in order to obtain adequate clearance. Reference Illustration 3 for the location of hose clamps (1) and areas that could be potential pinch points (A) for E-stick bucket hose (2) .
Note: The hose that is routed from the rod end of the bucket cylinder is most likely to experience pinching.
