Scrapers for the Tracks on the Floor for the Ejector Body Can Be Made {6203}

Scrapers can be made for use on the listed machines. The scrapers help to clear the tracks for the floor rollers of debris and fine material. The scrapers are suited for use when the machine is used to transport material such as sand and fine grit.

Locate the centers for bosses (1) on the left side of the ejector blade. Refer to Illustration 2 and Table 2. Clean the areas of all dirt and paint before welding the bosses to the ejector blade with 4 mm (0.16 inch) fillet welds.

Note: Ensure that the ground cable for the welding equipment is located as near as possible to the area that is being welded.

Repeat for the right side of the ejector blade. When the welds are cold, repaint as required.

Position scrapers (3) over each pair of bosses (1) so that the scrapers are in light contact with the tracks on the floor of the ejector body. Secure the scrapers in place with plates (2), washers (4) and bolts (5) .

Note: Periodic adjustment of the scraper must be carried out in order to adjust the clearance of the scraper with the ejector body.

Fabrication of Boss (1)

Fabricate boss (1) from a piece of mild steel rod with a diameter of 20 mm (0.79 inch). Refer to Illustration 3 and Table 3.

Note: Four bosses (1) are required per machine.

Fabrication of Plate (2)

Fabricate plate (2) from a 5 mm (0.20 inch) thick piece of mild steel plate. Refer to Illustration 4 and Table 4.

Paint the plate with a suitable primer and an outer coat of paint.

Note: Two plates (2) are required per machine.

Fabricate scraper (3) from a 203-6770 Wear Pad or from a nylon type 6 material that incorporates a liquid mineral oil for lubrication of the same base dimensions. Refer to Illustration 5 and Table 5.
