Description of Change: The spider assembly has been updated. The width of the keyway on the spider assembly has been reduced. This will improve the radial fit between the stake nut and the washer. This will improve the retention capacity of the stake nut. The improved retention will address the loosening of the stake nut. If the stake nut loosens, failures of the spider gears and the bearing assemblies can occur.
Adaptable To: The 152-1234 Spider Assembly has been updated. The spider assembly, the 6P-1736 Washer and the 155-0804 Stake Nut are used in the 141-3124 Differential Gp and the 296-3748 Differential Gp. The 141-3124 Differential Gp has been cancelled. The 141-3124 Differential Gp was replaced by the 296-3748 Differential Gp. The updated spider assembly is adaptable back to the beginning of production on the machines. The updated spider assembly became effective in production with the machine JSM215-UP.
When you assemble the differential and bevel gear group, refer to the disassembly and assembly module for your machine. The modules are listed above. The new 297-2795 Staking Punch As is available. The modules will be updated in order to include the new staking punch assembly. The new staking punch assembly is made from hardened alloy steel. Use the new staking tool in order to improve the retention of the 155-0804 Stake Nut. The new staking tool is available through the parts distribution system.
