Description of Change: A new fan drive group (variable speed) is used on the engines in these machines. This new fan drive group has an improved fan clutch main rear bearing design. The improved design will provide increased service life to the fan drive group.
Adaptable To: The new 133-5969 Fan Drive Groups is in effect as shown in Chart A. This new fan drive group is adaptable to all earlier trucks that are powered by an engine equipped with Electronic Unit Injection (EUI). Special Instruction, REHS0023, "ECM Controlled Variable Speed Fan Clutch Group For 785B, 789B, And 793B Off-Highway Trucks" provides all the information needed to install the new fan drive group on earlier machines.
The illustration and Chart B identify the components of the 133-5969 Fan Drive Group. Two kits are available for servicing this fan drive group. The illustration and Chart C identify the components of the 122-3188 Seal Kit. The illustration and Chart D identify the components of the 122-3191 Overhaul Kit.
