Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) Version 2.3 has been shipped and should be arriving at dealerships soon. Form numbers JERD2125 TEPS Cat Dealer and NEXG5009 TEPS Cat Customer include support for electronic On-Highway Truck Engines. Form numbers JERD2129 Full Service Dealer ET and NEXG5007 Full Service Cat Customer include support for electronic On-Highway Truck Engines, Commercial Engines, and Machine Engines. If you have already received License Authorization for your existing ET software, it is not necessary to license again when updating to Version 2.3. One new feature in ET Version 2.3 is Rating History. This will display the history of various engine ratings along with warranty implication information. The 1999 Model Year ECMs will date stamp and record the horsepower, torque, duration, and electronic service tool serial number at the time of rating change entry. In addition, the ECM will record a total of four different rating settings: the original, present, highest horsepower, and previous rating programmed. This feature is available with 1999 Model Year truck engines.

To meet the needs and request from the field, there will be a complete re-write of the manuals. Therefore, a manual will not be included in the Version 2.3 upgrade package. Manuals will be shipped at a later time. In addition, the manual did not make it on the Dealer Additions CD-ROM. There will be another communication provided as soon as it is available.

Included on the Dealer Additions CD-ROM is an updated training packet that was put together by Service Training. This training material is in Adobe Acrobat Reader format and the reader is available on the Dealer Additions CD-ROM. Please refer to the Dealer Additions user manual for installation instructions.

Caterpillar has recently released a new NEDG6013 Dealer ET Brochure and a NEDG6015 Customer ET brochure. These brochures will provide available features and ordering information for Dealer and Customer ET.
