Control of the boom functions can be transfered from joystick control (6) to control valve (3) for the access platform. The control valve consists of solenoid operated valves (2). The control valve is mounted onto the machine frame. The solenoid valves are controlled by push buttons (1) on the access platform.
Push buttons (1) on the instrument panel of the access platform are connected to control valve (3) via an electric cable. The electric cable is wound onto a spring loaded reeling drum which is mounted onto the access platform. When the boom is being extended, the electric cable rotates the reeling drum against spring force. When the boom is being retracted, the spring rotates the reeling drum in the opposite direction and the electric cable is rewound onto the reeling drum.

Control valve (3) is located behind bank valve (5). Six electrically operated two-position solenoid valves and one pressure reducing valve are installed in the control manifold.
Solenoid valves (8), (9), (10) and (11) control the following functions:
- Boom lower
- Boom raise
- Boom retract
- Boom extend
Solenoid valve (12) in conjunction with pressure reducing valve (13) provides operation of the boom at two speeds. Solenoid valve (14) selects either control of the boom from the joystick control or control of the boom from the access platform.

The access platform (swivel) is mounted to an accessory drive which is attached to the quick coupler. The accessory drive gear enables the access platform to swivel left or right. The accessory drive gear is driven by hydraulic motor (16). The hydraulic motor is driven by oil that is supplied from the auxiliary section of bank valve (5). The hydraulic motor is controlled by push buttons (15) and the solenoid operated control valve (17) .
