Screed Plate (Extender) - Remove and Install
Removal Procedure
- Raise the screed.
- Set the extender to zero slope and lower the screed.

- Remove ten bolts (1) and cover (2) .

- Remove four bolts (3) and four adjusters (4) .

- Remove six nuts (6). Raise the screed and remove screed plate (8). The weight of the screed plate is 86 kg (190 lb).

- Remove six adjusters (7) from the extender.
- Remove six studs (5) from the screed plate.

- Repeat Steps 1 through 7 for the other extender.
Installation Procedure
- Raise the screed.
- Apply 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of six studs (5). Tighten the studs to a torque of 104 N·m (77 lb ft).

- Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads on six adjusters (7). Set Dimension (X) to 8 mm (0.315 inch).

- Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads on four adjusters (4). Set Dimension (Y) to 6 mm (0.24 inch).

- Place screed plate (8) under the extender and lower the screed. Install six nuts (5). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

- Install four bolts (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

- Install cover (2) and ten bolts (1) .

- Repeat Steps 1 through 7 for the other extender.
- Adjust the screed plate. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, KENR5008, "Screed Plates - Adjust" for the correct procedure.
