Correction to Service Magazine article , "New Axle Housings Increase the Parts Commonality" {3259, 3260, 3278}

The housings for the axles have been improved in order to increase the parts commonality. See Table 1 for the changes. If a former housing must be replaced, a new housing is required.
Note: You must install a 118-5837 Shaft As and a 118-5839 Rear Axle Seal in a new housing.
The diameter of the new shaft is larger in order to increase the service life of the axle. The former seal was replaced with a cartridge seal. The installation of the seal will be easier.
