(1) Joystick control (2) Bank valve (3) Inlet section of bank valve (4) Control valve |
A pilot pressure reducing valve which is located in inlet section (3) of bank valve (2) supplies a pressure of 2650 ± 150 kPa (385 ± 20 psi) to the pilot hydraulic system. The flow of pilot oil is connected to control valve (4) and to joystick control (1). Four solenoid valves are installed in the control valve.
Side movement of joystick control (1) can operate the telescoping cylinder. Side movement of the joystick control can also operate the tilt cylinder when a switch on the joystick control is operated.

Controls in Hold
Pilot pressure for operation of the tilt cylinder and the telescoping cylinder is blocked at joystick control (1) .
Telescoping Cylinder (Boom Extend)
All solenoid valves de-energized. Joystick control (1) is moved to the right. Pilot pressure is transmitted from the joystick control to port (P2), solenoid valve (6) and port (B2) to the pilot port of bank valve (2) for the telescoping cylinder (boom extend).
Telescoping Cylinder (Boom Retract)
All solenoid valves de-energized. Joystick control (1) is moved to the left. Pilot pressure is transmitted from the joystick control to port (P1) and solenoid valve (7) and port (B1) to the port of bank valve (2) for telescoping cylinder (boom retract).
Tilt Cylinder (Tilt Forward)
Joystick control (1) is moved to the right and the switch on the front of the handle is pressed. Solenoid valves (5), (6) and (7) are energized. Pilot pressure is transmitted from the joystick control, through port (P2), solenoid valve (6), solenoid valve (5) and port (A2) to the port of bank valve (2) for tilt cylinder (tilt forward).
Tilt Cylinder (Tilt Backward)
Joystick control (1) is moved to the left and the switch on the front of the handle pressed. Solenoid valves (5), (6) and (7) are energized. Pilot pressure is transmitted from the joystick control through port (P1), solenoid valve (7) and port (A1) to the port of bank valve (2) for tilt cylinder (tilt backward).
Brake Cylinder (Boost)
Pressure is transmitted from port (X2) on the manifold of control valve (4) to a port on the brake cylinder (boost).
Note: The brake system is described in Specifications, System Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR5105, "Brake System".

The lockout control is operated by a two-position switch. When the lockout control (key) is turned counterclockwise, all the machine functions are operational.
When the key is turned clockwise only boom cylinder (boom raise/lower) and telescoping cylinder (boom extend/retract) can be operated. When the key is turned clockwise the transmission control, the tilt cylinder, the auxiliary cylinder, the frame leveling cylinder and the stabilizer cylinders are locked out.
The two-position switch is used to control the tilt cylinder via solenoid valves (9), (10), (11) and (12). Solenoid valve (13) is not used.
When the key is turned counterclockwise solenoid valves (9), (10), (11) and (12) can be energized by operating the switches on the joystick control and the tilt cylinder can be operated.
When the key is turned clockwise solenoid valves (9), (10), (11) and (12) can not be energized by operating the switches on the joystick control and the tilt cylinder can not be operated.
Note: Refer to the electric circuit diagram in Schematic, RENR3416, "Electrical System" for information concerning lockout control of the transmission, the frame leveling cylinder and the stabilizer cylinders.
