Description of Change: The installation of larger lower lift arm bearings improves bucket pin and bearing service life. The new bearings have the following improvements: an increased wall thickness, added strength and an increased service life.
Adaptable To: The 9EP2545 Bearings are effective with R1700G (PIN: 8XZ248-UP). The 9EP2545 Bearings are adaptable to the R1700G (PIN: 8XZ1-247). Refer to the following procedure in order to adapt earlier machines.

Procedure
- Remove the bucket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4675 (9EP5405), "R1700G L.H.D. Machine Systems", "Bucket - Remove".
- Remove the seals (1) and the bearings (2) from both of the lower lift arms.

- Line bore the lower lift arm. The new specifications are shown in Illustration 2.

- Press the new 9EP2545 Bearings and the new 5P-8488 Lip Seals into the new bores. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4675 (9EP5405), "R1700G L.H.D. Machine Systems", "Lift Arms - Install".
- Install the bucket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4675 (9EP5405), "R1700G L.H.D. Machine Systems", "Bucket - Install".
- Lubricate the bucket pins. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7323 (9EP5408), "R1700G L.H.D.", "Bucket Pivot Pins - Lubricate".
