A Gas Spring for the Hood is Available {7251}

Description of Change: A gas spring for the hood is now available. The addition of a gas spring will assist in raising the hood in order to access the engine.
Adaptable To: The 160-6154 Gas Spring is adaptable to PIN: R1700-127
and Up by using the following procedure.

Procedure
- Weld the 9EP5597 Mounting Block (1) into the position that is shown in Illustration 1. Refer to Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs & Welding Procedures".

- Weld the 9EP5598 Mounting Plate (4) to the hood (6). Refer to Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs & Welding Procedures".

- Connect the 160-6154 Gas Spring (5) to the 9EP5598 Mounting Plate (4) by using the 8T-4224 Hard Washer and the 5C-7261 Nut (2) .
- Connect the lower section of the 160-6154 Gas Spring (5) to the 9EP5597 Mounting Block (1) .
