- Road Reclaimer/Soil Stabilizer:
- RM-350B (PIN: 7FS1-UP)
Description of Change: Five holes have been added to each side plate on the mixing chamber. The holes with a diameter of 88.9 mm will help eliminate buildup of material between the side discs and the rotor hood. Buildup of material can prevent the hood from rotating upward.
Adaptable To: The change to the 148-6527 Mixing Chamber is effective with S/N:7FS00172
.
The change to the 148-6527 Mixing Chamber is adaptable to S/N:7FS1-00171
.
Rework Procedure
- Rotate the rotor hood to the full service mode in order to access the side plate in the chamber. The tilt cylinder may need to be disconnected in order to gain enough clearance.
Note: To reduce the downtime of the machine, perform the following update when you perform the updates that are discussed in the Service Magazine, SEPD0545, 23 October 2000, "Improvements Have Been Made to the Mixing Chamber of the Rotor Hood". The rework procedure is identical for both sides of the machine.
Note: Removing the rotor hood is not necessary to drill the holes.
- Use a 89 mm (3.5 inch) hole saw with a MAG-based drill to drill the holes at the specified locations in the table below. Refer to Illustration 1 for a detailed schematic of the hole and the location of the datum bar.

- Assemble the tilt cylinder if the cylinder was disconnected in order to drill the holes.
Note: Holes are numbered clockwise from top. The datum bar 01 is the bottom of the plate. The datum bar 02 is the bolt at the rear of the side plate.
