Alternator - Remove and Install

Usage:

527 3DS

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lower access panel from the right hand side of the machine.

  1. Put identification marks on three wires (5). Disconnect wires (5) from the alternator.

  1. Remove two clips (3) that secure the wires to the alternator.

  1. Loosen bolts (1) and (4). Move the alternator toward the engine.

  1. Remove two V-belts (2) from the alternator pulley.

  1. Remove bolts (1) and (4). Remove alternator (6) from the machine.

Installation Procedure

  1. Put alternator (6) in position. Install bolts (1) and (4) .

  1. Install two V-belts (2) onto the alternator pulley.

  1. Move the alternator away from the engine in order to apply tension to the belts. Tighten bolts (1) and (4) .

  1. Install two clips (3) onto the wires.

  1. Connect wires (5) to the alternator.

  1. Install the lower access panel onto the right hand side of the machine.

    Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fan and Alternator Belts" for the correct adjustment procedure.
