Description of Change: The recommended Maintenance Interval Schedule for checking the oil level in the midwheel hub is now "Every 1000 Service Hours".

Midwheel Hub Oil Level - Check

SMCS Code: 4180-535-FLV

Note: Inspect the oil level frequently if you operate the machine in extremely wet conditions or extremely muddy conditions.

  1. Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Place chocks at the front of the belts and at the rear of the belts.

  1. Deflate the air from spring (1) through valve assembly (2) .

  1. Rotate the midroller so that oil level/fill plug (3) is located at the 2 o'clock position.

  1. Clean the area around oil level/fill plug (3). Then remove oil level/fill plug (3) .

  1. Maintain the oil level to the bottom of the threads of the hole for oil level/fill plug (3). If the oil level is low, add oil. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for additional information.

  1. Install oil level/fill plug (3) .

  1. Repeat the procedure on the other midwheels. Make sure that you check the midwheels on the inner side of the undercarriages and outer side of the undercarriages.

  1. Inflate the spring with air through valve assembly (2). See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Air Spring Pressure" for the correct inflation pressure.
