Engine Speed Sensor - Adjust

- Remove the speed sensor. Align a gear tooth directly in the center of the threaded sensor opening.
- Screw the sensor into the hole until the end of the sensor contacts the gear tooth. Use only hand pressure when you are installing the sensor.
- Unscrew the sensor (two-thirds of a turn). Two-thirds of a turn is 240°. This sets the air gap (A) to 0.89 mm (0.035 inch).
- Tighten the locknut (2) to 13 ± 1 N·m (115 ± 9 lb in).
Note: Do not allow the sensor to turn as the locknut is tightened.
