Illustration 9 g00527277 Show/hide tableIllustration 10 g00527122 Show/hide tablePersonal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.
Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
- Position cylinder assembly (1), piston assembly (8) and spring (10) into a suitable bench vise (not shown). Use the bench vise (not shown) in order to compress spring (10).
- Install locknut (6) onto rod (9). Tighten locknut (6) to a torque of
145.5 ± 37.5 N·m (107.32 ± 27.66 lb ft) . - Install O-ring seal (7) onto indicator rod (4). Install indicator rod (4) into cylinder assembly (1).
- Install limit switch (5) and the O-ring seal into cylinder assembly (1). Tighten limit switch (5) to a torque of
7.5 ± 2.5 N·m (66.38 ± 22.13 lb in) .Show/hide tableIllustration 11 g00527121 - Use eight nuts (2) in order to install cylinder assembly (3) to cylinder assembly (1). Tighten eight nuts (2) to a torque of
14 ± 3 N·m (123.91 ± 26.55 lb in) .
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the assembly procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.
