554 Forwarder and 574 Forwarder Caterpillar

Log Loader Extendable Stick Chain Tension - Check - 8.7 m (29 ft) Reach and 10 m (33 ft) Reach

Usage:

554 1AM

------ WARNING! ------

Use a stable work platform placed in a secure location when lubricating the pillar, working on the fuel tank, or working on the hydraulic tank. If a secure location is not available, use the appropriate safety equipment to prevent falling off of the machine. Failure to work from a secure location may result in injury or death from a slip or a fall.

Note: In order to check the chain tension, use a suitable external platform that enables three-point contact at all times.

Two chains are used for extending the stick and for retracting the stick. One chain is located on the top of the boom. The other chain is located on the bottom of the boom.

Extend the stick to the farthest position and check the tension of the chains. If there is excessive play in the chains, tighten the chains. Chain tension adjusters are provided for each of the two chains.

Note: The chain should not touch the extendable stick. The clearance between the chain and the extendable stick should be 10 ± 3 mm (.4 ± .12 inch).
