Start By:

  1. Remove the tires and rims.

    For Tooling (A)

  1. Stabilize the machine frame and axles with Tooling (A) and Tooling (C). Remove eight nuts (2) and the bolts to separate equalizer arm (1) from suspension frame mountings (3).

  2. Stabilize the machine frame and axles with Tooling (A1) and Tooling (C). Remove eight nuts (2) and the bolts to separate equalizer arm (1) from suspension frame mountings (3).Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

  3. Attach Tooling (B) and a nylon lifting strap to equalizer arm (1) and a lift truck. Remove three bolts (5) that secure end cap (4) to equalizer arm (1).

  4. Use three 20 mm forcing bolts (6) to remove end cap (4) from equalizer arm (1). Use the lift truck to remove equalizer arm (1) from the machine. The weight of equalizer arm (1) is 168 kg (370 lb).

  5. Remove two conical bushings (7) from each side of the bore that is in equalizer arm (1).

  6. Remove the equalizer arm from the other side of the machine by using the same procedure.
