Start By:

  1. Remove the rear axle stabilizer rod. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR9128, "Rear Axle Stabilizer Rod - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

  1. Turn off the engine. Apply the foot brake several times in order to relieve the pressure in the brake system.

  1. Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from moving.

  1. Drain the oil from the rear axle housing. The capacity of the axle housing is 9 L (2.5 US gal) .

    ------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from driveline torque windup under load.

Unequal wheel speed can result in driveline torque windup which can cause driveline components to be under load during disassembly.

Relieve the driveline torque windup before disassembly.

    ----------------------

  1. Release the contained energy in the driveline by raising either side of the machine until the wheels are off the ground. Lower the wheels back to the ground.

  1. Chock the wheels in order to stabilize the machine for maintenance.
