(1) Torque for three bolts ... 30 ± 7 N·m (266 ± 62 lb in)

(2) Lubricate the sealing lip of the lip type seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(3) Torque for the bolts ... 48 ± 7 N·m (35 ± 5 lb ft)

(4) 4J-6555 Spring

Length under test force ... 28.4 mm (1.12 inch)
Test force ... 5.07 ± 0.44 N (1.14 ± 0.10 lb)
Free length after test ... 35.1 mm (1.38 inch)

(5) As required, use the following shims in order to adjust the clearance to 0.50 ± 0.13 mm (0.020 ± 0.005 inch):

Thickness of one 7G-3177 Shim ... 0.8 mm (0.03 inch)
Thickness of one 7G-3046 Shim ... 0.25 mm (0.010 inch)

(6) As required, use the following shims and spacers in order to adjust the brake residual pressure:

Thickness of one 7G-3177 Shim ... 0.8 mm (0.03 inch)
Thickness of one 7G-3046 Shim ... 0.25 mm (0.010 inch)
Thickness of one 3T-6822 Spacer ... 1.8 mm (0.07 inch)

(7) As required, use the following shims in order to adjust the clutch pressures:

Thickness of one 5M-9624 Shim ... 0.25 mm (0.010 inch)
Thickness of one 5M-9623 Shim ... 0.9 mm (0.04 inch)
Thickness of one 5M-9622 Shim ... 1.6 mm (0.06 inch)

(8) As required, use the following shims in order to adjust the brake residual pressure:

Thickness of one 5M-9624 Shim ... 0.25 mm (0.010 inch)
Thickness of one 5M-9623 Shim ... 0.9 mm (0.04 inch)
Thickness of one 5M-9622 Shim ... 1.6 mm (0.06 inch)

(9) Torque for four plugs ... 75 ± 10 N·m (55 ± 7 lb ft)

(10) 7T-1112 Spring

Length under test force ... 73 mm (2.9 inch)
Test force ... 169 ± 8 N (38.0 ± 1.8 lb)

Adjustment Procedure for Clutch Levers and Spring Assemblies

Note: This adjustment should be made before any system pressures are adjusted.

Use the following procedure in order to tighten two bolts (21) :

  1. Remove the cover (16) and loosen the bolt (21) .

  1. Move the clutch lever (14) until the roller (17) is in contact with the plunger (18) .

  1. Move the spring assembly (20) until the pin of the spring assembly is in the front detent of the clutch lever. See illustration 3.

  1. Tighten the bolt (16) to 47 ± 7 N·m (35 ± 5 lb ft).

  1. Repeat step 2 through step 4 for the other clutch lever.

  1. Install the cover (16) .
