Assembly Procedure

1. Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

2. Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

3. Place Tooling (A) on the cover assembly for the hydraulic tank, as shown. Form a crisscross pattern over the top bolt hole of the cover assembly with the beginning and ending point of Tooling (A) .

4. Position the cover assembly (10) on the steering hydraulic tank (1). Secure the cover assembly with bolts (9) and the locknuts.

5. Install sight gauge (8), the bolts, and the O-ring seals. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 7 ± 1 N·m (62 ± 9 lb in). Install the O-ring seal and breaker relief valve (7) .

6. Install elbow (6) and the O-ring seal to steering hydraulic tank (1).

7. Install the plug adapter, the gasket, and two bolts (5) to steering hydraulic tank (1) .

8. Install screen assembly (4) and the O-ring seal to steering hydraulic tank (1).

9. Install the base, oil filter (3), locknuts (2), and the washers to steering hydraulic tank (1) .

End By: Install the hydraulic tank (steering). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Tank (Steering) - Install".
