Lowering the Body with Engine Stopped

Usage:

D250E II 4PS
If a fault has occurred on the machine and the engine has stopped, the dump body may need to be lowered.

Note: You need two people to perform this procedure.

Note: The batteries for the machine must be fully charged in order to perform this procedure.

  1. Apply the parking brake. Install the steering frame locks. Block the wheels.

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".

  1. Pull up knob (4) on lowering control valve (5). The knob must be held in this position. This will allow the oil to flow from the secondary steering pump to the hoist cylinders. The dump body will lower under power.

  1. When the dump body has been fully lowered, release knob (4) on lowering control valve (5). Release the switch for the secondary steering.

  1. Turn valve (3) in a clockwise direction until the valve is closed. Tighten O-ring face seal nut (1) to a torque of 50 ± 7 N·m (37 ± 5 lb ft).

Do not operate the machine until the fault has been corrected.
