PROBLEM
The existing 3109354/">310-9354 Transmission Control can fail due to an internal broken wire, which results in a loss of one or more transmission speeds in forward or reverse directions on certain 420F, 420F2, 427F2, 428F, 428F2, 430F, 430F2, 432F, 432F2, 434F, 434F2, 444F, 444F2, and 450F Backhoe Loaders. In some cases, Fault Code 0702-2, or 0702-4 may be logged or active. NOTE: If your are getting Fault Code 623-12 then STOP. This code refers to the Directional Switch on the loader joystick, and NOT the lever on the steering column, and is not covered by this service letter. |

ACTION REQUIRED
If, after following the troubleshooting guidelines, it is apparent that there is an electrical issue internally to the lever, then replace the existing 3109354/">310-9354 Transmission Control Group lever with a new one. The new control lever has improved harness retention inside the lever to stop stress on the soldered joints. |
