Usage:
Installation of a hydraulic tilt cylinder on these machines will permit the operator to tilt the bulldozer blade to either the right or left. Separate parts must be ordered to install this attachment. Use this instruction along with the Parts Book and Service Manual for the correct installation procedure.
3G8732 Hydraulic Control Valve
1 Release the pressure and drain the oil from the hydraulic tank. Remove rods (1) from hydraulic control valve (2). Install 3G8732 Valve Group (3) with two 3G8724 Rods (4) and one 3G8720 Rod (5). Inspect the seal in housing (6), if it is damaged, install a new 2H4145 Seal.
1U1988 Tilt Cylinder Group
1 Remove brace assembly (1) and screws (2); these parts will not be needed again. Install 1U1988 Cylinder Group (3) where brace (1) was removed. Use shims (4) as needed to get clearance between the cylinder rod socket and the ball on the blade.
4T2300 Tilt Cylinder Lines Group
1 Install two 2R6276 Connectors (1) with 3D2824 Seals in implement control valve (2). Put 1U961 Tube Assembly (3) and 1U959 Tube Assembly (4) in position and connect the tubes to connectors (1) as shown. Fasten tubes (3) and (4) to the frame left rail with 1U963 Strip (5) and two S509 Bolts.
3G1394 Tilt Cylinder Lines Group
1 Tack weld two 1U4199 Blocks (6) and one 8M5890 Block (7) to support (8) at approximately the locations shown. Make 4.0 (.16") fillet welds along each side of blocks (6) and (7). Weld 6K2198 Boss (9) to block (7) with a 3.0 (.12") fillet weld all around the boss. Fasten tubes (10) and (11) to boss (9) with 7K7862 Clip (12), S509 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer.
2 Tack weld 4J7554 Clamps (13) to blocks (6) as shown. Make 3.0 (.12") fillet welds along each side of clamps (13). Install 8M505 Connector (14) and 307948 Elbow (15) with 3K360 Seals in tilt cylinder (16). Connect 1U807 Hose Assembly (17) to tube (11) and elbow (15). Connect 1U3578 Hose Assembly (18) to tube (10) and connector (14). Fasten hoses (17) and (18) to clamps (13) and to the clamps on the push arms with 4J7655 Clamps (19) and 3B1915 Bolts.
3 Install six 1U4198 Lugs (20) on 1U962 Guard Assembly (21) with S1621 Bolts and 5P8245 Washers. Put guard (21) in position at approximately the location shown. Tack weld lugs (20) to support (8). Remove guard (21) and make 4.0 (.16") fillet welds along each side of the lugs. Again install guard (21).
4 Install 1U4135 Guard Assembly (22) with S1587 Bolts and 5P8245 Washers. Install 4T1815 Guard Assembly (23) on the tilt cylinder with 6H1717 Bolts and 5P8245 Washers.
7V8707 Hydraulic Hand Control Group
1 Remove bracket (1) and knob (2) from the former hand control group. Remove spacer (3) from the former hand control linkage. These parts will not be needed again.
2 Install two 6P593 Bearings (4) in 4V1025 Bracket Assembly (5). Install two 6P593 Bearings in 4V1023 Shaft Assembly (6). Assemble 6B4196 Washer (7), two 2V7859 Bearings (8), shaft (6), bracket (5), 4V3427 Collar (9) and 4B3566 Setscrew (10) together as shown. Use the former hardware to install bracket (5) where the former bracket was removed.
3 Install two 6P593 Bearings (11) in 7V8523 Bellcrank (12). Assemble bellcrank (12), 7V8521 Spacer (13) and 2V7859 Bearing (14) on former shaft (15). Connect bellcrank (12) to hydraulic control valve (16) with 7V8526 Rod (17), two 7V7210 Pins and 3B4609 Cotter Pins.
4 Assemble 6F612 Nut (18) and 5P9083 Rod End (20) on 5V2740 Cable Assembly (21). Install 6F612 Nut (22) and 6V3338 Rod End (23) on the other end of cable (21). Connect rod end (23) to bellcrank (12) with 7B7210 Pin and 3B4609 Cotter Pin. Connect rod end (20) to the lever assembly as shown, with a 1L9061 Nut and 3K8909 Lockwasher. Remove the former clip and install 4K6177 Clip (24) around cable (21) and lift control cable (25), with L1351 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer. Install 5V1681 Knob (26).
