Installation of the 2W4832 Engine Oil Filter Conversion Group (spin-on-filters) will make it easier for the serviceman to change the oil filter elements.
(1) Remove oil filter case assemblies (1) and filters. Remove base (2) and tubes (3); these are not needed again.
Installation Of Engine Oil Filter Group
(1) Install 4L5847 Valves (1) and 1W303 Springs (2) into 2W575 Support (3) and 2W576 Support (4). Install 5H2830 Covers (5), 5H2831 Gaskets and four 3B1915 Bolts (6) with 5M2894 Washers. Install support (3) on the engine with five 3B1915 Bolts (7) and two S1585 Bolts (8) as shown. Install a 5P5846 Seal (9) on 2W573 Tube Assembly (10) [each end]. Put lubricant on the seals. Install tube assembly (10) into support (3). Install support (4) on the engine with four 3B1915 Bolts (11) and two S1585 Bolts (12) as shown.
(3) Install 2P4305 Gasket (16) between two base assemblies (14) with four 2A4639 Bolts (17), 1D4717 Nuts (18) and 5M2894 Washers. Install 2W574 Support (19) to base assembly (14) with four S1588 Bolts (20) and 5M2894 Washers. Install the base assemblies to support (3) with 2P4305 Gasket (21) and S1588 Bolts (22) and 5M2894 Washers. Install two S1588 Bolts (23) with 9L9132 Washers through 2W574 Support (19) and tighten to standard torque.
(4) Install a 7N6946 Boot (24) on each 2W573 Tube Assembly (25). Install a 5P5846 Seal (26) on each end of the tubes. Put lubricant on each seal and install tube assembly (25) into 2W572 Elbow (27); push boot (24) down and over the end of elbow (27). Follow the same procedure for the other tube and elbow. Install a 2W570 Bracket (28) on each elbow with an S509 Bolt and 9L8132 Washer. Do not tighten at this time. Install 6K6165 Clip (29) and 6K6166 Bracket (30) on each tube with S1585 Bolt (31), 1D4719 Nut and 5P8245 Washers. Do not tighten at this time. Install a 6L1648 Seal (32) into each bore in the cylinder block. Install the tube and elbow assemblies as shown with six S1585 Bolts (33). Tighten all clip and bracket bolts. Install 1W2660 Filter Element Assemblies (34). Tighten each filter element 3/4 of a turn after the filter gasket makes contact with the filter base.
