Usage:
4V9093 Collector Arm Group
NOTE: When ordering a 9V8854 Tree Collector Arrangement for machines with a serial number below 10W228, a 9V3330 Wiring Harness must also be ordered. See pages 20, 21 and 22.
(1) Put 5V0932 Collector Plate (1) on shear frame (2) and tack weld it in place, at the dimension shown.
(2) Weld plate (1) to frame (2) with 10 (.39") fillet welds at (A), 8 (.31") bevel groove welds at (B) and 12 (.47") fillet welds at (C).
(3) Remove two grapple arms (3) and install two 8V3330 Grapple Arms (4), with the same hardware. Install 7K9203 Seals in arms (4).
(5) Install four 7K9203 Seals (7) in 5V0938 Link Assembly (8); install a 3B8486 Fitting (45°) and 3B8489 Fitting (straight).
(6) Install link (8) to plate (1) with a 4V8959 Pin, 2B2006 Bolt and 1K6872 Locknut. Install 8V5711 Guide Assembly (9) to link (8) with S0175 Pin and 3B4617 Cotter Pin. Put 5P8839 Washer (10), 9J8752 Spring (11) and 8H8636 Washer (12) on guide (9). Put 4V8960 Pin (13) in 5V1081 Arm (14).
(7) Put guide (9) through the hole in pin (13) and fasten link (8) to arm (14) with 4V8959 Pin (15), 2B2006 Bolt (16) and 1K6872 Locknut.
(9) Install 9M4584 Connector (19) with 2M9780 Seal, and 307949 Elbow (20) with 2M9780 Seal to cylinder (18). Install 618248 Union (21) in 4V9137 Tube Assembly (22). Put tube (22) on connector (19) and connect 7V0730 Hoses (23) to tube (22) and elbow (20). Fasten hoses (23) with 5H2095 Clamps (24), L2070 Bolt (25), 1D4717 Nut and two 5M2894 Washers.
(10) Install cylinder (18) between plate (1) and arm (14) with 4V8959 Pins (26), 2B2006 Bolts and 1K6872 Locknuts.
(11) Install arm (6) to arm (14) with 4V8961 Pin (27) and 4V8962 Spring (28). Put one tab of spring (28) in the slot of pin (27) and the other tab over the pin in arm (6). Install S1620 Bolt (29) and 5P8245 Washer to pin (27). Use a torque wrench to turn pin (27) until the torque is about 5.6 N·m (4.1) and 7D5962 Bolt (30) can be put through the boss and pin (27). Fasten the pin with 1K6872 Locknut (31). Install 3B8489 Fitting.
9V8853 Collector Lines Group
(1) Remove plates (1). Install 8V9168 Blocks (2) and (3) with four L1143 Bolts (4) and 5M2894 Washers. Install 9M4584 Connectors (5) and (6) with 2M9780 Seals in block (2). Put 307949 Elbow (7) and 9M4584 Connector (8) with 2M9780 Seals in block (3).
(2) Put 2P1326 Elbows (9) and (10) on bracket (11) and fasten with 7F2060 Locknuts. Put 307972 Elbow (12) on elbow (10). Install 4V8757 Tube Assembly (13) between elbow (9) and connector (5); install 4V8745 Tube Assembly (14) between elbows (7) and (12). Connect the hoses, previously installed, to elbows (9) and (10).
(3) Install a 9F2167 Screw (15) and a 9V8836 Hose Assembly (16) in each block. Install a 6V1249 Grommet, 5P7464 Clip and 5P7465 Clip on hose assembly (16). Install the clip on the pivot frame with a bolt and washer.
(4) Put two 307983 Unions (17) and two 9S7739 Unions (18) in 5V9031 Tube Assemblies (19). Connect two 5V7539 Hose Assemblies (20) to tubes (19). Install the hoses and tubes to arm (21) in bracket (22), with two 2V8186 Bearings (23) and in bracket (24). Fasten hoses (20) in brackets (25) and (26); install two 9S7739 Unions (27).
(5) Install 5V7439 Tube Assemblies (28) to boom (29), in bracket (30), with 2V8186 Bearings and bracket (31). Connect tubes (28) to hoses (20).
(6) Put 5P3621 Elbows (31) on one end of 5V7539 Hose Assemblies (32), and 9S7739 Unions (33) on the other end. Install hoses (32) on boom (29) in bracket (34) and connect to tubes (28). Install hoses (32) in bracket (35). Fasten elbows (31) with 6K8420 Locknuts and four 6S8870 Washers.
6W1359 Collector Lines Group
(1) Put 1U2077 Valve Group (1) on 5V4589 Plate Assembly (2) and fasten it to plate (2) with three 8S9089 Bolts (3), 1D5117 Nuts and 2S1654 Washers. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
(2) Install two 4S6680 Connectors (4) with 7M8485 Seals, two 308196 Connectors (5) with 2M9780 Seals, 3R9704 Elbow (6), two 307947 Elbow (7) with 3J1907 Seals and 307946 Elbow (8) with 3J7354 Seal to valve (1).
(3) Put 1U1639 Valve Group (9) on plate (2) and fasten with three T0573 Bolts (10) and 5M2894 Washers. Install 307946 Elbow (11) with 2M9780 Seal, and connect 8V7146 Tube Assembly (12). Put 307950 Elbow (13) with 3D2824 Seal in valve (9).
(4) Put 2P1278 Unions (14) and (15) in plate (2) and fasten with 2P1279 Locknuts. Install 5P3466 Elbow (16) with 7M8485 Seal and install 2P1297 Tee (17) with 3D2824 Seal. Put 8V7144 Tube Assembly (18) between union (15) and elbow (7).
(5) Connect one end of 8V7138 Tube Assembly (19) to elbow (16) previously installed. Install 8V7142 Tube Assembly (20) and 8V7145 Tube Assembly (21).
(6) Install 4T4755 Valve Group (22) to plate (2) with two T0065 Bolts (23). Do not tighten the bolts at this time. Install 2R6276 Connector (24) with 3D2824 Seal and connect tube (19). Connect 8V7143 Tube Assembly (25) to tee (17).
(7) Put 9D0884 Connector (26) with 3D2824 Seal in 4T2593 Accumulator Group (27) and put 3R9704 Elbow (28) in connector (26). Install accumulator (27) to plate (2) with 8S6783 Clamp (29), S1590 Bolt (30), 4V6698 Spacer and 1D4717 Nut. Do not tighten. Connect tube (25). Install 307951 Elbow (31) with 7M8485 Seal. Install 2R6276 Connector (32) with 3D2824 Seal and 3R9704 Elbow (33).
(8) Remove hose (34).
(9) If necessary, move hose (35) to make clearance. Use a suitable hoist to put the assembly in place; fasten with four S1595 Bolts (36) and four 2S1654 Washers. Do not tighten the bolts. Do not permit any contact between any tubes and the accumulator.
(10) Install 8V6983 Hose Assembly (37) to the pump with the former hardware and seal and fasten with the clip. Connect the loose end to elbow (31).
(11) Put 5P2242 Tee (38) on elbow (39) and install 315744 Elbow (40) on tee (38). Install 676684 Reducer and 1P0043 Nut (41) to elbow (40) and install 676684 Reducer and 1P0043 Nut (42) to tee (38). Connect 9V3322 Tube Assembly (43) between nut (41) and elbow (33).
(12) Connect 8V7141 Tube Assembly (44) between connector (5) and reducer (42).
(13) Disconnect tube (45) [remove elbow (46) if so equipped] and install 679921 Tee (47) with 7M8485 Seal. [If already equipped with tee (47) remove the cap]. Put 676684 Reducer and 1P0043 Nut (48) on tee (47). Install 8V7140 Tube Assembly (49) between reducer (48) and connector (5). Connect tube (45).
(14) Install 8V7142 Tube Assembly (50), 8V7148 Tube Assembly (51) and 8V7147 Tube Assembly (52) as shown.
(15) Connect tubes (51) and (52) to elbows (31) previously installed. Fasten tubes (51) and (52) with six 4H7655 Clamps (53), two 6K9725 Clamps, four S1594 Bolts, 1D4717 Nuts and 5M2894 Washers.
(16) Put 6K9194 Elbows (54) on 4V9114 Hose Assemblies (55) and (56). Put two 4V9559 Tags on hose (55) and two 5V5022 Tags on hose (56).
(17) Disconnect hoses (57) and (58); install 619258 Tee (59). Connect hose (55) between tee (59) and union (15). Connect hose (57) to tee (59).
(18) Connect hose (56) to union (14). Install 619258 tee (60) and connect hoses (56) and (58) to tee (60). Tighten all the bolts and nuts.
(19) Remove support (61) and cover (62). If there is no opening in cover (62), make one at the dimensions shown. Install 9B4197 Grommet (63).
(20) Install 4K670 Switch (64) on 8V9212 Bracket Assembly (65) with two S1616 Bolts, 5P4115 Washers and 9S8750 Nuts. Connect machine wiring harness (66) to switch (64) [use 9V3330 Wiring Harness for machines with serial numbers below 10W228]. Install bracket (65) with the former screws and washers. When the bolts are installed they will make threads in bracket (65).
(21) Push harness (66) through grommet (63). On machines below serial number 10W228 and equipped with a defroster fan, disconnect the fan and connect the lead of harness (66) to either of leads (67). If not equipped with a defroster fan, connect the lead of harness (66) to existing harness (68).
(22) On earlier machines, put wiring harness (66) along the existing wiring harness (68) and connect wire (69) to wiring harness (66). Fasten wiring harness (66) to the existing harness with 7K1181 Straps (70) and existing clamps. Install cover (62) that was previously removed.
(23) On earlier machines equipped with a defroster fan, remove defroster toggle switch (71) and install 8V2388 Wire Assembly (72) in plug (73) to make a complete circuit.
(24) Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank and fill as needed. Start the engine and operate the collector arm with switch (64). Bleed air from the hydraulic system with screws (15).
