Installation Of 9V5348 Hydraulic Control Arrangement (4-Valve; A.E.M. Ripper){5000}

Usage:

814B ( 16Z) 815B ( 17Z) 816B ( 15Z)

This hydraulic control arrangement will permit the use of an A.E.M. (Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturer) ripper or any rear mounted implement that needs a separate hydraulic circuit for its operation on the above machines. Modifications must be made to the machine before the control arrangement can be installed. This hydraulic control arrangement has several parts groups that must be ordered as separate parts. Some of the separate parts can be installed on the machine or modifications can be made to the former parts so they can be used again. This instruction gives the procedures to make the modifications to the former parts and to install the hydraulic arrangement.

NOTE: Before a ripper can be installed, a rear frame reinforcement group must be installed on the machine; see Special Instruction Form SMHS8208 for the correct installation procedure for the rear frame reinforcement group.

9V2241 Mounting And Valve Group

1 Release the pressure and drain the oil from the hydraulic tank. Remove former control valve group (1) and plate assembly (2). Install 9V2196 Plate Assembly (3) with the former hardware, where plate (2) was removed. Remove section (4) and three rods (5) and the nuts from valve (1). Install 3G8732 Valve Group (6) in control valve (1). Use two 9V2301 Rods and four 9S8905 Nuts and one 9V5655 Rod (7) with two 6B6684 Nuts. Install control (1) on plate (3) with the former hardware.

9V2275 Tilt And Tip Cylinder Lines Group

1 Remove tubes (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) and connector (6) from the tilt and tip cylinder lines group; these parts will not be used again.

2 Install 9V2255 Tube Assembly (7), 9V2256 Tube Assembly (8), 9V2276 Tube Assembly (9) and 9V2261 Tube Assembly (10) where the former tubes were removed. Install 307944 Elbow (11) and a 3D2824 Seal and 9V2257 Tube Assembly (12) as shown.

9V2242 Implement Control Group (Ripper)

1 Remove knob (1), lever (2), plate (3) and bearing (4); these parts will not be needed again. Use a cutting torch to remove section (A) from angle (5) inside sheet assembly (6). Make an 8.5 mm (.33") radius in the end of section (A). If this modification cannot be made to sheet assembly (6) install a 9V2185 Sheet Assembly where the former sheet was removed.

2 If former sheet assembly (6) is used (after modifications) check bearing (7); if it is damaged, or if a 9V2185 Sheet Assembly is used, install a new 4V1026 Bearing. Install two 3V3355 Bearings (8) (even with the outer edge) in 9V2172 Shaft Assembly (9). Install shaft (9) and two 2V7857 Bearings (10) in sheet (6). Install 9V2173 Shaft Assembly (11) and two 2V7859 Bearings (12) in shaft (9). Install 9V2170 Lever (13) and a 1B8705 Key on shaft (9) with an L1143 Bolt and 1D4717 Nut. Install 8M6770 Lever (14) and a 1B8704 Key on shaft (11) with an S1590 Bolt and 1D4717 Nut. Install 5V1680 Knob (15) and a 5B9079 Nut on lever (13). Install 2G6740 Knob (16) and a 5B9079 Nut on lever (14).

9V2239 Controls Installation Group

1 Remove bracket (1), shaft assembly (2), spacer (3) and support (4); these parts will not be needed again. Install 9V2198 Bracket (5) and 9V2193 Support (6) with the original hardware where the former bracket and support were removed. Install two 6P593 Bearings in 7V8523 Bellcrank (7). Install bellcrank (7), 2V7859 Bearing (8) and the former bellcranks and bearings in support (6) with 9V2200 Shaft Assembly (9). Connect the former control cables (lift, tilt and tip) to bracket (5).

2 Fasten 5V2740 Cable Assembly (10) to bracket (5). Install a 6F612 Nut on cable (10). Put cable (10) approximately 13.0 mm (.5") into 6V3338 Rod End (11). Connect rod end (11) to bellcrank (7) with a 7B7210 Pin and 3B4609 Cotter Pin. Connect bellcrank (7) to the hydraulic control valve (item 6, page 2) with 7V8526 Rod (12), two 7B7210 Pins and 3B4609 Cotter Pins. Put cable (10) in position by the other hydraulic control cables. Fasten cable (10) to the cut out (item A, page 4) in sheet (13). Install a 6F612 Nut on the other end of cable (10). Put the end of cable (10) approximately 13.0 mm (.5") into 5P9083 Rod End (14). Connect rod end (14) to shaft (15) with a 2L6267 Locknut. Adjust locknuts (16) to get the ripper control lever in the vertical position. Fasten cable (10) to existing bolts with two 9M4995 Clips.

9V2328 Hydraulic Lines Support Assembly And 9V2302 Ripper Lines Group

1 Install 3G5154 Connector (1) and a 5P8925 Adapter with 7M8485 and 3D2824 Seals in control valve (2). Install 8M745 Reducer (3) and an 8M744 Nut in connector (1). Install 308189 Connector (4) and a 3D2824 Seal in valve (2). Fasten 9V2197 Block (5) to the rear frame assembly with two 3B1915 Bolts and 5M2894 Washers. Install two 8M505 Connectors (6) and 3K360 Seals in block (5). Connect 1P4885 Hose Assemblies (7) and (8) to adapters (3) and (4) and connectors (6) as shown.

2 Install 307950 Elbow (9) and a 3D2824 Seal in the lower side of block (5). Install 2R6276 Connector (10) and a 3D2824 Seal in the end of block (5). Fasten 9V2304 Plate Assembly (11) to an existing bolt on the main frame. Connect 9V2314 Tube Assembly (12) to connector (10). Connect 9V2313 Tube Assembly (13) to elbow (9). Fasten tubes (12) and (13) to plate (11) with a 7K7862 Clip, S509 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer. Connect 9V2312 Tube Assemblies (14) and (15) to tubes (12) and (13) with 9S7739 Unions (16) as shown. Connect tubes (14) and (15) to an existing bolt on the frame with 7K7862 Clip (17). Install 3R3976 Elbows (18) and (19) on tubes (14) and (15). Connect 9V2306 Tube Assembly (20) to elbow (18). Connect 9V2305 Tube Assembly (21) to elbow (19).

3 Tack weld 6K2198 Boss (22) to approximately the center of 5G839 Plate (23). Make a 5.0 mm (.20") fillet weld around boss (22). Tack weld 9V2309 Boss (24) to approximately the center of 9V2307 Bar (25). Fasten plate (23) to tubes (20) and (21) with 7K7862 Clip (26), S509 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer. Fasten bar (25) to tubes (20) and (21) with 9V2303 Clip (27), S509 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer. Tack weld plate (23) and bar (25) to the side of the machine at approximately the location shown. Remove the tubes and make 5.0 mm (.2") fillet welds around plate (23) and bar (25). Again fasten the tubes to plate (23) and bar (25). If the rear implement is to be installed, connect the hoses from the rear implement to tubes (20) and (21). If the rear implement is not to be installed at this time, install a 4S4682 Cover and 4J5267 Seal with four S1588 Bolts on each tube.
