These resilient mounting groups are used on the above trucks to reduce the sound level for the operator to meet the acceptable standard which is commercially required in some countries. Installation of these groups is similar on all these machines. These parts groups must be ordered as separate parts, see pages 4 and 5 for the parts needed. Use this instruction along with the Service Manual for the correct installation procedures.
NOTICE |
---|
If these resilient mounting groups are installed on a machine, the machine will not meet ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) specifications. |
(1) Remove ladder (1) and fender (2) from the machine. Disconnect hydraulic control linkage (3). On 773B Machines only, disconnect tachometer drive cable (4). Fasten a hoist to the cab [approximate weight of cab 1125 kg (2500 lbs.)]. Remove four bolts (5) from each corner of the cab. Lift the cab approximately 50.0 (2.0"). Thoroughly clean the bolt holes, threads, cab feet and the frame pads. On 769C Trucks only, at the right rear cab support, use 5T5625 Plates (6) to get the dimension shown. Make 3.0 (.12") fillet welds across the ends of the plates. These plates are needed for added support under the cab.
(2) Install 16 adapters (7) and 5P8249 Washers in the cab; use 9S3263 Thread Lock on the adapters. See the chart for the correct part number of the adapters and the location to install them. Tighten the adapters to 600 ± 50 N·m (450 ± 40 lb.ft.) torque. Install plates (8) [location (A)-5T5413; locations (B), (C) and (D)-5T5414] and four 5T2692 Pads (9) over adapters (7). Lower the cab into position on the machine. Install an 8M3909 Washer (10), a 5T2690 Mount (11), a 9S1366 Bolt (12) and a 2S1654 Washer on each adapter (7). Tighten bolts (12) to 120 ± 15 N·m (90 ± 10 lb.ft.) torque; mount (11) should be in compression to the dimension shown at this torque. Install fender (2) (above) with the former hardware.
(3) On 769C and 773B Trucks, remove former ladder support bracket (13). Install 4V661 Mount (14) and 5T2682 Plate Assembly (15), where the former bracket was removed, with former bolt (16), 1A1460 Bolt (17) and two 1A2519 Washers. On 777 Trucks, remove the former ladder mount bracket and install 5T2680 Plate Assembly (18) where the former bracket was removed. Install 5T2677 Plate Assembly (19) on plate (18) at the dimensions shown, with 4V661 Mount (20), 1A1460 Bolt (21) and two 1A2519 Washers. Make 5.0 (.20") fillet welds at locations (X) on plate assembly (19). Remove the former plate assembly and install 5T2672 Plate Assembly (22) at location (Y) where the former plate was removed. Use 4V661 Mount (23), 1A1460 Bolt (24) and two 2S1654 Washers to fasten the other end of plate (22).
(4) Fasten 9M9812 Wire Assembly (25) to existing bolts on the cab and main frame. This wire is needed to get a good electrical ground between the cab and frame. Remove the former ROPS certification plate from the machine and install 6V6221 Plate (26), with four 4B4158 Screws, where the former plate was removed.
