New pins are the service replacement pins for the former pins used to hold the body front pivot support on the above machines. These new pins will turn freely in either the pivot support or in the bosses on the main frame to give added service life. New retainers are also needed for each end of the new pins. See the instruction that follows for the correct installation procedure.
(1) Raise the body and install pins (1) on each side to hold the body up. Remove pins (2) from support (3) on each side of the truck. These pins will not be needed again. Tack weld plate (4) [5T1976 - 769, 773; 6J6585 - 777] across the front side of hole (A) at the dimensions shown. Make 10.0 (.38") fillet welds along each end of plates (4).
(2) Install pin (5) [769, 773 - 5T1977; 777 - 5T2031] through support (3). Install plate (6) [769, 773 - 5T1974; 777 - 5T2029] with bolts (7) [769, 773 - 7B3235; 777 - S1587] and 5P8245 Washers.
