If a new bevel gear is to be installed on a former differential case of earlier 619, 630 or 631 Tractors which did not use dowels, see page 4 for case reworking instructions.
(1) Bolt the bevel gear to the differential case using lubricant on the bolts and washers. Tighten the bolts to torque (A) and install the lockwire. Line ream the dowel holes to diameter (B) and to depth (C), as shown on the chart.
(2) If the dowel holes are not perfectly aligned, or if the standard dowels do not fit tightly in both the bevel gear and differential case, line ream the holes for installation of the larger service dowels and line ream the holes to diameter (D), depth (C). Install dowels (1) to dimension (E).
(3) If a new differential case is being installed, install dowels (2) to dimension (F), and dowels (3) to dimension (G).
If a new bevel gear is to be installed on a former differential case of earlier 619, 630 or 631 Tractors, which did not use dowels, drill three equally spaced 21.43 mm Ø (.84375"Ø) holes (4) in the differential case at the locations shown for the tractor concerned. On 619 Tractors, this will consist of enlarging three of the former bolt holes. Complete the installation as outlined on pages 2 and 3.
