Installation Of 8V520 Lines Group{6504} Caterpillar

8V520 Lines Group can be installed to make a conversion of the 227 Logger to an Excavator for backhoe operation. In addition to the lines group, the 225 Excavator (3V5261 or 4V5832) Boom Arrangement and the desired bucket must be installed on the 227 Logger.

(1) Remove the boom and arm group. See the 227 Logger Service Manual.

(2) Install the new boom. See the 225 Excavator Service Manual.

(3) Remove eight hoses (1) and remove flanges (2) from manifolds (3).

(4) Loosen bolts (4) and move angles (5) to the outside as far as possible, to make clearance for the larger hoses.

(5) Install two 8V3348 Hoses (6) with four 1P5767 Flanges, eight 1A1460 Bolts, 5P8245 Washers and two 1P3704 Seals. Tighten bolts (4).

(6) Fasten the loose ends of hoses (6) to tubes (7) with four 5P8077 Flanges, eight 8S9092 Bolts, 5P8247 Washers and two 1P3705 Seals.

(7) Put four 9S8896 Caps (8) on elbows (9). Install four 5V7539 Hose Assemblies (10), (11), (12) and (13) to the elbows.

(8) Put 9S4183 Plug (14), two 2R6276 Connectors (15) and three 3D2824 Seals in each 8V3349 Manifold (16). Fasten manifolds (16) to the tubes with two 1P3708 Seals and eight L1169 Bolts. Fasten the loose end of hoses (13) and (11) first, then fasten hoses (10) and (12) to connectors (15) as shown.
