Usage:
RR-250B (3RR1-170) Reclaimer;
SS-250B (5GR1-166) Stabilizer
Parts needed for rework include: (2) 161-8693 Hubs and (2) 167-7478 Spacers.
NOTE: Rework should be performed in a shop with adequate lifting devices that are capable of lifting at least 4086 kg (9000 lb).
On some of the RR-250B and SS-250B machines the bolts that mount the 110-3822 Hub to the side of the rotor hood have loosened and been sheared off by the chain case. Parts are now available to rework these models and eliminate the bolts required to hold the hub to the rotor hood. Use the following procedure to complete this rework:
1. Refer to the RR/SS-250B Disassembly and Assembly Manual KENR2963, Pages 30 to 32 in order to remove the rotor group.
2. When the rotor group has been removed, refer to the RR/SS-250B Disassembly and Assembly Manual KENR2963, Pages 41 to 43 in order remove the rotor hood.

3. Once the rotor hood has been removed, remove Pin (1) and save it for use later.
4. Remove Screw (2), Disks (3) and (4), and Bushings (5) and save then for use later.
5. Remove Bolts (6) and Hub (7). These parts will not be reused.

6. Rework hood bores to the dimension shown in Detail A. Bore from the original dimension of 81.0 mm to the final dimension of 101.6 ± 0.15 mm. Note: In Detail A, the 81.0 mm is the original bore dimension and the 101.6 ± 0.15 mm is the final bore dimension that is desired. Fabricate Plate (8) to dimensions in Detail B and weld plate as shown to each side of the hood.
Illustration 3. (11) Before installing pin, tighten pivot screw. Back off pivot screw until holes align, then install pin.
7. Press 167-7478 Spacer (9) on 161-8693 Hub (10).

8. Using Pin (1), Screw (2), and Bushings (5) that were saved earlier, reassemble Disks (3) and (4) to the rotor hood. Refer to Illustration 3 for order and callout (11) for tightening instructions.
9. Reassemble the remainder in reverse order by referring to Disassembly and Assembly Manual KENR2963.
10. Run the machine and check for proper operation.
