Description of Change: Modification of the 122-6370 Governor Control Group will alleviate sticking of the governor which prevents the engine from returning to low idle when the pedal is released. The modification can be accomplished either by replacing the 9X-4757 Cable Assembly with the new 148-1496 Cable Assembly or by reconfiguring the 9X-4757 Cable Assembly in accordance with instructions provided in this article.
Modification of the 7E-9912 Governor Control Group enables the cable assembly modification to be accomplished on machines using the 153-0609 Bracket to support the 106-5122 Compressor.
Adaptable To: The new 148-1496 Cable is effective with 928G (6XR1550, 7SR876) and IT28G (8CR1711, 9AR447) machines. The new 148-1496 Cable and the reconfigured 9X-4757 Cable are adaptable to the earlier machines.
NOTE: The 153-0609 Bracket used to support the 106-5122 Compressor became production effective with 928G (6XR1544, 7SR876) and IT28G (8CR1704, 9AR447).
Modification Procedure
The parts needed to reconfigure the 9X-4757 Cable are identified in Table 1.
