Description of Change: New support brackets are available that relieve loader stress when roading the machine. When the boom is secured in the storage position, the support brackets will rest on the machine frame allowing the weight of the loader to be supported.
Adaptable To: The new 169-8317 Support Group and 172-5448 Support Group are effective with 574 (1FM1-Up) Forwarders and adaptable to first production for the machines listed by following the installation procedure.

1. Install 160-9132 Support Assembly (1) onto existing frame holes used to mount the log bunks with two 7X-2576 Bolts (2), two 8T-4167 Washers, and two 6V-7676 Locknuts.
NOTE: The 172-5448 Support Group is used with the 167-7364 10 m (32.81 ft) Log Loader Arrangement. The pocket on the end of the loader will rest on the nose of the support assembly.

NOTE: The 169-8317 Support Group and the 173-5836 Modification Group are used with the 167-7362 7.2 m (23.62 ft) and the 167-7363 8.5 m (27.89 ft) Log Loader Arrangements.

1. Weld one 169-8315 Boss (3) onto the stick assembly with a 6 mm (24 in) weld. See Illustration 3 for mounting instructions.
2. Install one 169-8319 Boss (4) onto the opposite side of the stick assembly with the same procedure used in Step 1.
3. Install one 169-8310 Support Assembly (8) with two 169-8316 Bosses (7) two 9X-8257 Washers (6) and two 8T-4140 Bolts (5).

4. Fabricate two plates from structural steel according to the dimensions in Illustration 4.

5. Weld fabricated plates (9) onto the top guard assembly with a 5 mm (.20 in) fillet weld. See Illustration 6 for the location of the fabricated plates.
