24H (7KK) Motor Grader
A new cab positioning procedure has been developed to decrease cab vibration and translation. The new cab positioning procedure increases the clearance in front of and behind the Rollover Protection System (ROPS) tongue as seen through the pin bores (See Illustration) and helps eliminates the knocking noise caused by the cab hitting the ROPS structure.
NOTE: Before beginning this procedure a suitable lifting device capable of lifting the platform and cab will be needed. The cab and platform weigh approximately 2100 Kg (4600 lb).
1. Remove four 2J-8937 Pins (1).
2. Loosen four 7X-2488 Bolts (2) and two 8C-8478 Bolts (3)).
3. Lift cab enough to remove most of the cabs weight from the mounts.
NOTE: The cab and platform weigh approximately 2100 Kg (4600 lb).
4. Position cab and lower. There should be 4.0 mm (.16 in) clearance (A) in front of and behind the Rollover Protection System (ROPS) tongue (B) as seen through the pin bores. (See Illustration) There should be 4.0 mm (.16 in) clearance between the 2J-8937 Pins and the ROPS tongues. If there is not enough clearance between the top of the pins and the tongue bores, additional 125-6875 Washers (4) can be added.
5. When the cab is positioned correctly, tighten six cab mounting bolts to a torque of 462 ± 61 N·m (340 ± 45 lb ft).
6. Install four 2J-8937 Pins (1).
