New Metal Guards Prevent Debris From Entering Into Cab{7310}

Usage:

824G (4SN) Wheel Tractors, 825G (6RN) Soil Compactors, 980G (2KR) Wheel Loaders

Description of Change: Metal guards have been added to prevent dirt entry into the cab. The triangular guards were constructed to seal the front triangular trim panels on the cab.

Adaptable To: The new 149-1162 Right-Hand Plate Assembly and 149-1163 Left-Hand Plate Assembly are effective with 824G (4SN355-Up) Wheel Tractors, 825G (6RN320-Up) Soil Compactors, and 980G (2KR1395-Up) Wheel Loaders. The new plate assemblies are adaptable to first production for the machines listed by using the following procedure.

Illustration 1. (1) Location of Plate Assemblies.

Procedure to Install 149-1162 and 149-1163 Panels

1. Remove the 125-5395 and 125-5396 Glass.

2. Remove the 125-0886 and 125-0887 Channel Assemblies.

3. The mating metal surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from all traces of dust, oil, and grease. Clean mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.

4. Fit the panel on the outside corner of the cab so the panel contacts the front ROPS post, gusset, and is 6 mm (.24 in) from the front edge of the door.

5. Use a 119-0781 Adhesive or an equivalent bonding agent to apply a bead 9.5 mm (.37 in) high by 5 mm (.20 in) wide to the perimeter of the panel. Use light pressure to insure sealant contact is made around the entire perimeter of the installation. Remove excess material and insure a continuous bond has been obtained. Allow to cure for 30 minutes.

6. Repeat the above steps for the opposite side of the cab.
