This change was effective with D25D (1HK705) and D30D (3AJ426) Articulated Trucks.

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Description of Change: The 7U-4072 Sensor Group-Suspension Control has been improved with a new board assembly, housing, and harness assembly. The new board assembly has improved circuitry for increased reliability, and the new housing/harness assembly now protects the board assembly mounted inside by providing more moisture resistance.

Adaptable To: The new 141-8786 Board Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 102-6285 Board Assembly. The new 150-8172 Housing Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7U-6013 Housing Assembly. The new 150-8173 Harness Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7U5994 Harness Assembly.

All of the former part numbers will no longer be serviced. As a cost-saving measure, the former 7U-6013 Housing Assembly can be reworked to perform like the new 150-8172 Housing Assembly by performing the following steps to provide a mounting area for the 7X-6085 Grommet (included in the 150-8173 Harness Assembly):

(1) to make the housing perform like the new 150-8172 Housing Assembly.

1. Drill the hole where the harness assembly wires go through the housing (A) to 20 mm (.787 in), 18 mm (.708 in) deep (C).

2. Counter bore the hole to (B) 25 mm (.984 in), 7 mm (.276 in) deep (D).

Install the new 150-8173 Harness Assembly and tighten the 7X-6085 Grommet with hand tools until it cannot move in the housing. As it is tightened the grommet expands in the hole to provide a leak resistant seal at the housing. Install the new 141-8786 Board Assembly and connect it to the new 150-8173 Harness Assembly. Refer to the appropriate service manual module for the machine being serviced and set the suspension height according to that manual (D25D, D30D, D40D, D350D, and D400D = SENR8194-02 Suspension System, D300D = SENR8218 Suspension System). Test the machine for proper operation and troubleshoot as needed.
