New Hoist Cylinder Seals And End Cap Now Available For Service Repair{5102}

Usage:

D250E (5TN1-548) Articulated Trucks

Reference: Service Manual Module, SENR8654-01, Disassembly & Assembly, D250E & D300E Articulated Trucks Machine Systems, Page 53, "Remove and Install Hoist Cylinder", Page 55, "Disassemble & Assemble Hoist Cylinder". This module is part of Service Manual SENR8650.

A new end cap that uses a vented double lip wiper seal is now available for service repair on hoist cylinders. This improved seal eliminates oil leaks and reduces premature end cap wear by preventing dirt and water ingress in the cylinder. The new 147-8505 End Cap, 8C-3841 Seal, and 149-1488 Lip Seal replace the former 2U-7394 End Cap and 7U-4137 Rod Wiper Seal. The new end cap, and seals can be installed in the 7U-6405 Cylinder Group found on D250E (5TN1-548) Articulated Trucks. One new end cap, seal, and wiper seal will be required per lift cylinder (2 per truck). A 5J-8275 Rod Seal is also required in the new end cap. One is already installed in the former end cap. It should be inspected and replaced as necessary.

NOTE: Use the referenced Service Manual to remove the end cap and seals, and replace with the above parts.

(1) 147-8505 End Cap. (2) 8C-3841 Seal. (3) 149-1488 Lip Seal. (4) 5J-8275 Seal (part of original, replace if necessary).
