3054 Engine - New Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal Housing Provides Better Seal {1161}

Description of Change: A new rear crankshaft seal housing assy gasket, and bridge provide a better seal for the 3054 Engine. The housing assembly has two added bolt holes and bolts. The new bridge has slots in the sides that have been changed to accept silicone sealant for better sealing. This change became affective with Engine Serial Number 5HK05417.

Adaptable To: The new 112-5540 Housing Assy, 112-5541 Gasket, and 113-0309 Bridge is adaptable to all engines installed in first production Backhoe Loaders listed above. When upgrading engines with serial numbers 5HK1 - 05417, the engine housing is updated from the (12) bolt hole pattern to the (14) bolt hole pattern and the new 113-0309 Bridge is used. The former 6I-0362 Bridge can be used on the new housing assy with the extra holes in the housing assy not being used. This type of set-up will not affect the sealing capability of the new housing assy. A list of new parts needed for the upgrade is in the following Chart A.
