Torque/Turn Method Used To Tighten Brake Caliper Retaining Bolts{4256}

Description of Change: The torque/turn method of tightening bolts is now used to tighten the brake caliper retaining bolts on the 129-0383 Front Axle Group for the D350E and 123-4852 Front Drive Axle Group and 123-4853 Center Drive Axle Group on the D400E Articulated Trucks. The torque/turn method of tightening the brake caliper retaining bolts insures the bolts do not come loose.

Adaptable To: The torque/turn tightening method is used to tighten the thirty-two 9X-8888 Bolts on the 129-0383 Front Axle Group (D350E) and 123-4852 Front Drive Axle Group and 123-4853 Center Drive Axle Group (D400E) in production and should be used when servicing the brake calipers on all D350E and D400E Articulated Trucks.

The torque/turn specification is to tighten the thirty-two 9X-8888 Bolts to 200 N·m (150 lb ft) plus an additional 60 degree turn.
