Bolt (9) in Illustration 1 is shown assembled incorrectly. The following Illustration shows bolt (9) assembled correctly.
The following note should be added at the end of the text.
NOTE: After installation of top two bolts (13) and washers (4), check hood clearance with the hood latched in place. If insufficient clearance is evident, remove the two washers from the top two bolts, or if necessary, grind the hood to gain minimal clearance.
--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
A 363 kg (800 lb) counterweight package is available through Parts Service. The counterweight is designed for use on Challenger applications with heavy three-point hitch loads. The counterweight provides additional weight for better machine balance.
The new 125-0461 Counterweight Group is currently only available as a dealer installed attachment. Counterweight bracket mounting holes were effective with the Challenger 35 (8DN477) and Challenger 45 (1DR974), except for Challenger 35 (8DN497) and Challenger 45 (1DR1017-1022) Agricultural Tractors. Machines with PIN numbers before Challenger 35 (8DN395) and Challenger 45 (1DR923) Agricultural Tractors will need additional holes drilled in the frame. The Challenger 35 (8DN396-476) and Challenger 45 (1DR924-973) Agricultural Tractors will have to be visually inspected to determine whether the counterweight mounting hole in each side of the frame is already provided or must be added. See the following charts and illustrations for hole and part locations.
