Service Life Of The 3Z-4729 Tube Assembly Can Be Increased By Modifying The Mounting Plate For The Combination Valve Group {5057,5064,5084}

Usage:

12G (61M),
140G (72V) Motor Graders Equipped With All Wheel Drive

The brazed joints in the 3Z-4729 Tube Assembly, part of the 3Z-4610 Pump Lines Group, can fail. The failure is due to stress caused by misalignment between the priority and combination valve groups.

If the brazed joints of the 3Z-4729 Tube Assembly fail, the slots in the mounting plate for the 9T-2106 Combination Valve Group can be lengthened to allow for better alignment of the 3Z-4729 and 3Z-4727 Tube Assemblies between the combination and priority valve groups, and the implelment pump.

Use the method that follows to install a new 3Z-4729 Tube Assembly, or to relieve stress on the original tube assembly, and modify the mounting plate.

1. Remove the failed tube assembly (1).

2. Remove the two 7X-0275 Bolts that hold the priority valve group (2) in position.

3. Loosen the joints for the tube assembly (3) between the valve group (2) and combination valve group (4).

4. Remove the mounting plate (5) for the combination valve.

Illustration 3. Dimensions for increasing the length of the slots in the 3Z-4679 Mounting Plate Dimension (A) 25.4 mm (1.00 in).

5. Increase the length of the slots in the combination valve mounting plate by 25.4 mm (1.00 in) as shown in Illustration 3.

6. Install the modified plate. Do not tighten the mounting bolts for the combination valve at this time.

7. Install the new tube assembly (1).

8. Do not install the mounting bolts for the priority valve (2). Tighten all other fittings for tube assemblies (1 and 3) between the priority valve (2) and combination valve (4).

9. Tighten the retaining bolts for the mounting plate (5) for the combination valve (4).

NOTE: The mounting bolts for the priority valve group (2) are not required. If desired, new holes can be drilled and tapped in the mounting plate for the priority valve and the bolts installed.
