--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: New cylinder assemblies, Part of the 9T-2807 and 9T-8911 Hoist Cylinder Groups, are in production on the trucks listed above. The new cylinder assemblies have a new head that has a flange and will not come loose. The new heads will be the only heads serviced in the future. Rework of the tubes in the former cylinders will be required to use the new heads.
Adaptable To: The new cylinder assemblies are in effect with 789 (9ZC664), 789B (7EK113), 793 (3SJ45) and 793B (1HL15) Trucks. The new cylinder assemblies were effective with 9T-2807, Change 5, built 9/92 and 9T-8911, Change 1, built 8/92. The cylinder assemblies are a direct replacement for the former cylinder assemblies which are canceled. Chart A has the service parts for the new cylinder assemblies.
NOTE: The former tube cannot be used with the new head without modification.
The former tube can be modified to accept the new head. The former tube must have a counterbore machined in one end. Use the dimensions given in Chart B to machine the head in the former tube.
