Reinforced Wheel Rims Available Resist Damage {4209}

A new reinforced wheel rim is available for the above machines. Reinforcing bars are welded around the outer edges of the rim that will resist damage from rocks or other objects. In trenching applications, rocks may wedge between the wheels and the trench wall and can cause damage to the rims.

There are two options for installing the reinforced wheel rims. A new 121-8035 Rim Group can be used to replace the entire rim assembly, or a new 122-7156 Rim can be installed to the existing inner rim. The new rims are adaptable to first production on the machines listed above.

If new 122-7156 Rims are to be installed, the existing hardware can be used. Tighten the bolts, which fasten outer rim (2) to inner rim (3), to 211 ± 7 N·m (155 ± 5 lb ft).
