The 122-1161 Seal Kit, that is used with 1G-7089 Cylinder Assembly, contains seals for two different seal configurations. One type of rod seal is used with an O-ring and backup ring configuration. The other type of rod seal is used in a lip seal configuration. See the illustration for the location of the rod seal.
Location Of Steer Cylinder Rod Seal
For service replacement, use only the same type of seal that was originally installed in the cylinder. DO NOT INTERCHANGE SEAL TYPES.
